PARISH MISSION STATEMENT
We are courageous in empowering change, compassionate in valuing people, and Catholic in the way we seek to go in love as Jesus does.
Come as you are. All are welcome.
MINSTRY SPOTLIGHT:
Take the Plunge! Dive into Scripture Readings with Us
Ever wonder how you can better apply the Gospel heard on Sunday to your life on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, etc.? Do you want to dive deeper into the Bible readings heard at Sunday Mass with other curious and faithful parishioners? This prayer group might be just what you need!
The FERVENT PRAYER GROUP meets Mondays. Those present take turns reading aloud the Scripture readings for the previous Sunday. After some reflection, we discuss what lines from the Scripture especially speak to us and how the Scripture has meaning for our world and our lives today. We take time to offer intercessory prayers before concluding with a little song and social time.
Our group of 6 to 8 people represents a continuation of the Lenten Retreat Groups formed in 2020. Come once, Drop-in periodically, or Join every Monday -- No Registration Required. We meet by telephone conference at 7pm on Monday evenings and end between 8pm and 8:15pm.

NEW FEATURE:
Holy Cross Heroes**
If you missed the Bulletin Insert last week, here's an article written by one of our own about one of our own. This is an example of intergenerational collaboration at its best! Click here for complete article published in the Chestnut Hill Local: '13-year-old writes about Mt. Airy author friend, 88'.
"Despite their 75-year age difference, Raymond B. Webster, 88, and Nina Heverin-Alvarado, 13, are friends, fellow Mt. Airy residents, fellow Holy Cross Parish members and because of this article, fellow published authors."
So blessed to have Nina and Ray in our church family! Thank You both for all that you do for our community and beyond!
**If you have someone you would like to be nominate as a "Holy Cross Hero", please reply to this monitored email account and we will reach out to you soon.
PARISH FEAST DAY:
From Parish Picnic to Prayer Service
SAVE THE DATE: Sept 12th @1pm
Parish Feast Day: Healing & Prayer Service
After polling the congregation and discussing the responses as a Parish Pastoral Council, it was decided that we will have a Parish Feast Day: Healing & Prayer Service instead of a picnic this year in order to keep folks safe. We hope to give ourselves, as a Church Family, the opportunity to begin to heal together. We plan to celebrate survivors & births, honor first responders & care-givers, and remember those we have lost during this time of pandemic. It will be an indoor / outdoor event.
We Hope You will Join Us as We Heal Together.
We are still finalizing service details, and welcome all activity and liturgy suggestions for consideration. Submit suggestions by simply responding to this monitored email account. Thank You for your understanding.
