Below is a copy of the announcement made by the priests during each Mass on Sunday, January 12, 2025:
"I have been asked by the Archdiocese to share the following announcement at all the Masses this weekend about the pastoral leadership for Holy Cross Parish.
Archbishop Pérez, responding to the pastoral needs of Holy Cross Parish as appointed Father Kevin Okafor, Parochial Administrator, of Holy Cross effective February 3, 2025. Father Okafor was ordained in June of 2020 and has been serving as the Parochial Vicar of Saint Katherine of Siena Parish, Philadelphia, since his ordination. Father Okafor will reside at Saint Raymond of Penafort Parish initially during this time of transition.
Please join me in gratitude to Father Zlock, the Regional Dean, for serving as Parochial Administrator, Pro Tem since this past September. Also a deep debt of gratitude is extended to Father Emmons for the priestly service and stability he has been providing since the death of Father Grogan. Father Emmons will continue in his role as Parochial Vicar.
I would ask that you please keep Father Okafor in your daily prayers as he prepares to assume this leadership role."
