MINISTRY OPPORTUNITIES for ENGAGEMENT
Volunteers are needed to Help Build Ministries at Holy Cross Parish OR to Help Grow Existing Ministries. MINISTRY VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES
- Advocacy Ministers (group of Legal, Medical, Social Workers, and other concerned people who care to be the Voice of the Voiceless. Serving immigrants, nursing home residents, and others in need to be heard)
- Altar Society (keeps sanctuary tidy, from front pew to the tabernacle, and altar linens in supply, cleaned and pressed)
- Children's Liturgy of the Word (Facilitators needed, 30min during Mass)
- Contemplative Cleaning Group (scheduled tidying of church)
- Facilities & Groundskeepers (Gardeners, maintenance, handy-persons who lend their talents to keep the buildings and the grounds around campus safe, clean and inviting)
- Food Pantry (serves those experiencing food insecurity; open weekly, Tuesdays, 10am-12pm)
- Hospitality Committee (Social Sunday crew)
- Liturgical Ministries (Altar Servers, Sacristans, Eucharistic Ministers, Lectors, Greeters & Ushers, Audio Visual (AV) Techs for Mass live-stream, Flower Cmte)
- Ministry with Youth (Facilitators needed to accompany young people in Teen Ministry)
- PREP / OCIA (Religious Education volunteers working directly with Director of Religious Education)
- Sick and Shut In (home, hospital and nursing home visitors needed, and card writers, prayer service leaders; training provided)
- Small Group Facilitators (time for small group prayer & reflection, e.g. Lent or Advent programs)
- Special Events Planning Committee (church picnic, annual Easter egg hunt, extra outreach projects, pilgrimages, neighborhood groups representation, census, ecumenical events, etc.)
SOCIAL & SPIRITUAL GROUPS
- Adult & Kids Bible Study (Consider the Word weekly)
- FIAT Prayer Group (charismatic Prayer group, healing Mass, spiritual
programming, fellowship)
- Knights of Columbus (service organization that support charitable activities)
- Ladies Guild (Socialize, Mobilize and Spread the Joy of our Catholic Faith with other women and the community at large)
- Man-To-Man (Pray, Reflect and Share time with other men considering the Word for that weekend)
- Social Justice Committee (Educate and Serve according to Catholic Social Teachings)
- Young Adult Group (Meet with others in your similar stage-in-life: pray, socialize and do life together)
