Parish Announcements — Holy Cross Parish
Dear brothers and sisters in Christ,
1. Easter Appeal
Our Easter Appeal is still ongoing. We kindly ask for your continued generosity to support the needs of our parish. Thank you to all who have already contributed.
2. First Holy Communion — Next Sunday
Next Sunday, at 11:00 AM Mass, our parish children will receive their First Holy Communion. Please keep these young candidates in your prayers as they prepare to receive Jesus in the Holy Eucharist for the first time.
3. Mother’s Day — Next Sunday
Next Sunday is Mother’s Day. We will offer prayers for all mothers, stepmothers, expectant mothers, grandmothers, and all those who play a motherly role in our lives. There will be special blessings for all mothers at every Mass next Sunday. Please spread the word and invite all mothers to join us for these blessings.
4. May Procession and Crowning
Immediately following the 11:00 AM Mass next Sunday, we will have our traditional May Procession and Crowning of the Blessed Virgin Mary in front of the convent. All are welcome to join this beautiful devotion in honor of Our Lady.
5. Fr. Okafor’s House Visits — Beginning June
Beginning in June, Fr. Okafor will start visiting parishioners in their homes. Families will be invited to sign up for a time when they are available to host him. During these visits, Fr. Okafor will get to know the members of each family, pray with them, and bless their home. We encourage all parishioners to participate in this wonderful opportunity.
6. Mass Intentions
We kindly remind everyone that it is a beautiful and meaningful practice to book Masses for our deceased loved ones and friends. However, Mass intentions are not only for the deceased. You can also request Masses for many other intentions — for success in exams, before surgeries, for safe travels, for good health and safety, for thanksgiving, and much more. The suggested donation is $10 or more, or whatever you are able to offer.
7. Parish Bulletin
Please remember to always take a copy of the parish bulletin home with you. It contains the weekly readings and important information about what is happening in our parish. It is a great resource to stay connected and informed.
Thank you for your attention and continued participation in the life of our parish. God bless you all.
