Parish Pastoral Council Renewal

Dear Parishioners,

As we continue to grow as a parish family, I am beginning the process of renewing our Parish Pastoral Council here at Holy Cross. The pastoral council is a prayerful, consultative body that assists the pastor in discerning the needs of the parish and planning for our mission of evangelization, faith formation, worship, and service.

Membership is open to active, practicing parishioners who are willing to listen, reflect, and share their wisdom for the good of our parish. Council members should be people of faith, prayer, and commitment who desire to help our parish flourish.

If you feel called or would like to nominate someone you believe would serve well, please submit names to the parish office by the 15th of September. You can fill out an online nomination form using the button below. After a process of prayer and discernment, new council members will be commissioned at Mass.

As Proverbs reminds us: “Plans fail for lack of counsel, but with many advisers they succeed” (Prov. 15:22). With your prayers and participation, the Lord will bless our efforts.

In Christ,

Rev. Kevin C. Okafor

Pastor

Our Lady Undoer of Knots

Mary can help us untangle our life's knots and burdens.

This month, you are encouraged to write your burdens or prayers down on the ribbons provided at the back of church and at the trellis. Tie your ribbon to the trellis in front of the Mother Mary Statue located in front of the convent. This is a great opportunity to witness to others the intercessory power of Our Lady. Invite friends, family members, and neighbors to visit the trellis and share their struggles.

Where do I find the Mother Mary Statue?

Walk out of the front doors of the church, turn right at the bottom step and follow the walkway to the statute in front of the convent.

After the 11:00 Mass on September 28th, we will honor Our Lady Undoer of Knots feast day by praying the Rosary for all of our intentions.

Please see the video below to learn more about the story of Our Lady Undoer of Knots and how to use the prayer trellis.
