Dear Beloved Parishioners and friends of Holy Cross,
As we gather around our tables this Thanksgiving, my heart is filled with gratitude for each one of you. Your faith, generosity, and commitment to our parish family continue to be signs of God’s abiding presence among us. “I give thanks to my God every time I remember you” (Philippians 1:3).
Thanksgiving is not simply a day but a spiritual posture. It reminds us that everything we have is a gift from God, and that “a grateful heart is a magnet for miracles,” as the proverb says. In a world that often moves too quickly, this celebration invites us to pause, reflect, and cherish the blessings, both great and small, that color our lives.
As Scripture reminds us, “Give thanks to the Lord, for He is good; His love endures forever” (Psalm 107:1). May this enduring love fill your homes with peace, joy, and unity. May God surround your families with protection and provide for all your needs according to His riches in glory.
A wise saying teaches, “When we give thanks for a little, we find much.” May this season deepen our awareness of God’s goodness and strengthen our bonds as a parish community walking together in faith.
On behalf of Holy Cross Parish, I offer heartfelt gratitude for all you do, your prayers, your ministries, your sacrifices, and the quiet acts of kindness that often go unseen but never unnoticed by God.
Happy Thanksgiving!
May the Lord bless you and keep you; may His face shine upon you and be gracious to you.
With prayerful gratitude,
Fr. Kevin C. Okafor
