The Holy Cross Bible Study Group will resume weekly meetings starting today

You are invited to show up every week or as your time and interest allow.
What to expect?
St. Jerome said that ignorance of Scriptures is ignorance of Jesus Christ.. So our goal is to better understand the scriptures and to mutually discover new ways to know and follow Jesus Christ.

At each meeting we will:
Pray to the Holy Spirit for guidance.
Review the readings from the previous Sunday with a special emphasis on the Gospel.
Go into depth using various Catholic commentaries, articles, columns and books from various
scripture scholars.
Look at the historical and cultural background and context of the readings.
As a group, discuss and share personal insights, questions and personal experiences.
Prayerfully consider how to respond, going forward being open to the Holy Spirit.
A note on translations: It has been said that the best translation is the one you will actually
read. However, we will be using the New American Bible—Revised Edition which
matches the Missal in our pews. Copies of the Missal will be provided. Or use you own Bible..
