SPECIAL MASS OF REMEMBRANCE AND PRAYER
Friday, September 11, Holy Cross Parish
“Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted.” Matthew 5:4
Dear Parishioners,
As we remember September 11, we invite the entire Holy Cross Parish family to come together in prayer and remembrance at a Special Mass for all those whose lives were lost on that tragic day.
Date: Friday September 11, 2026
Time: 8Am
Venue: Holy Cross Main Church
At this Mass, we will pray:
For all who lost their lives and for the eternal repose of their souls.
For their families and loved ones, that God may continue to comfort and strengthen them.
For our veterans, who have sacrificed so much in service to our nation.
For our active-duty military, first responders, police officers, firefighters, emergency personnel, and all who serve and protect our communities.
For peace in our nation and throughout the world, especially where there is war, violence, hatred, and division.
For the grace to become instruments of peace, reconciliation, unity, and love in our own communities.
Scripture reminds us:
“The Lord is near to the brokenhearted, and saves those who are crushed in spirit.” Psalm 34:18
On this solemn occasion, let us not remember only with sadness, but also with faith and hope. As people of faith, we entrust those who have gone before us to the loving mercy of God, believing that “neither death nor life… can separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord.” Romans 8:38–39
Come and Pray With Us
Let us fill our church with prayer, gratitude, remembrance, and hope. Bring your family. Invite a friend. Bring the names and intentions of those you wish to remember.
Together, let us say:
Lord, receive those who have died into Your eternal peace.
Comfort those who mourn.
Bless our veterans and all who serve.
Protect our first responders and service personnel.
Heal the wounds of our nation and our world.
Make us instruments of Your peace.
And help us to live each day with greater love, compassion, and gratitude.
Through Christ our Lord. Amen.
“Eternal rest grant unto them, O Lord,
and let perpetual light shine upon them.
May their souls, and the souls of all the faithful departed,
through the mercy of God, rest in peace. Amen.”
All are warmly invited to join us at Holy Cross Parish for this special Mass of remembrance and prayer.
Come. Remember. Pray. Hope.
